Jarrah Bookcase A WA colonial jarrah bookcase c1850 with later base. This Georgian design bookcase is a rare survival of the earliest period of the colony, before the arrival of convicts in the 1850's. It has squared paned doors with original glass and is of great elegance. Book cases are amongst the rarest of early WA furniture as the poverty of the colony saw few people needing such luxuries. |

Colonial teak sofa A colonial period teak sofa c1860. This wonderful Greek revival sofa is of teak with ebonised details. It is hard to tell wether the piece was made in India, The straits or the Dutch East Indies as teak was used across the region, either way a superb and stylish piece. |

Jarrah Console Whatnot An exceptionally rare WA Colonial console/whatnot c1860. This is an important, unique survival in West Australian furniture - nothing else of it's quality and type has been found. It's form owes much to late Regency consoles with tiers of shelves and cabriole legs. It would have been made for a wealthy household with the means to decorate rather than just survive. It retains its original polish and the most sensational colour. |
$24500.00 |

A Sheoak Dining Table A WA Colonial sheoak dining table c1870. Sheoak has the most beautiful grain when polished and this piece is no exception; the planks to the top have wonderful depth and colour. Finely turned legs, original patina and stands on its original brass castors. This table will comfortably seat six. Interestingly sheoak is a much rarer timber than jarrah in this period. |

Jarrah Food Safe A WA Colonial jarrah hanging food safe c1860. An uncommon survival this piece is very well made and incorporates a blacksmith-made double hook inside for hanging meat and an external loop for suspending the safe. The only other known example is in the collection of The National Trust. |

WA Colonial Oil A WA naive oil of the South West c1880. The tradition of naive painting in WA is continuation of the limner tradition from England where jobbing sign writers would paint pub signs and prized pigs. Here, the artists were often men who had followed the Gold Rush to WA and not done so well! This work is probably of a new farm on the Blackwood River around the Bridgetown/Nannup area and shows a family on the river with their cattle. It is in its original early Australian gilt frame. |
