A fabulous Charles II period English oak chest of drawers c1680. The piece is made in two halves and sits upon peg legs. It retains its original magnificent colour and each drawer front is inlaid with a panel of rosewood. On it are two pieces of early Chinese blue and white porcelain and a sensational pair of early 19th century Chinese porcelain parrots.

A fine English George I period walnut lowboy with mahogany crossbanding and superb colour and patina c1720.. In good original condition with original brasses and three drawers. Displayed on it a rare pair of Regency cordial decanters and four cut glass Regency bowls.

A fine quality French parquetry and ormolu mounted commode in the Louis XVIth style c1880. Superb veneers of mahogany, kingwood and rosewood with its original fine marble top. Oak secondary timbers and crisp ormolu mounts. On it part of our fine collection of French Art Deco art glass.

A fine set of eight English brass inlaid mahogany Regency period dining chairs (only four shown)c1820. There are two carvers and six chairs and all are in good condition with fine colour. It is uncommon to find larger sets of chairs from this period with matching carvers as they are usually separated and sold individually.

An extremely fine George III Sheraton style mahogany chest of drawers c1790. Of unusually small size, wonderful original colour and quality, the chest has fine crossbanding in kingwood and a brushing slide. Shown with it a wonderful Russian Archangel walrus ivory box and a fine Regency Derby plate.

A classic George III period English mahogany "Gainsborough" chair c1780. Of wonderful proportions the arms are delicately carved. Gainsborough Chairs are so named for their use in the paintings in the paintings of Thomas Gainsborough. The 18th-century artist often had subjects sit in this style chair in his famed portraits due to the flattering perspective it gave the sitter in the composition. In fact, it was one of the only chairs that would properly accommodate the volume of a typical 18th-century woman's skirt. With it is a curious mahogany ship's tripod table with a brass gallery and inset disc engraved with "From the Wreck of the Amazon" c1880. There are several wrecked Amazons from this period, the most notable being HMS Amazon in 1866. The table would most probably have been salvage, rather than made from timbers of the wreck as is sometimes the case.

A superb English mahogany Regency elbow chair of unusually large size c1820. Of great proportions the arms have a generous sweep and its size makes it ideal for use as a desk chair.

A very elegant and exceptional quality German satinwood and bronze mounted escritoire c1790. The piece has a single drawer, leathered writing surface and its original bronze ink pots. Delicate bronze legs in the form of bamboo support a lower shelf with fine bronze grille and inlaid medallion. There is a slight neo classical feel to this piece in wonderful original condition.

A superb quality English Regency period rosewood specimen tripod table. The finely turned column retains its original gilt finish and the top is a superb mosaic of rare stone including lapis and onyx making up a games board. In wonderful original condition. Next to it is one of a pair of the most extraordinary chairs we have ever seen. Of solid kingwood construction with boxwood inlay, turned ivory spindles and caned seats. They carry a makers stamp which suggest they are by Gillows.
