A fabulous gilt wood console table made for the Grand Hotel in Nice c1890. The carving is very fine and crisp with the original gilding in good condition. There is a painted vernis martin panel to the base of garlands and urns. The original marble top is a wonderful striated cream, brown and pink. A sensational Belle Epoque piece.

An exceptional quality Napoleon III French gilt mirror c1860. The piece retains its original gilding and glass and has an extraordinarily carved top.

A fantastic French Art Deco macassar ebony sideboard with fine bronze mounts and ebonized trim c1930. The French really dominated the field of Deco design and the finest objects of this period tend to be French, using rare, highly decorative timbers. This piece is a good size and has one interior shelf. Decorating it two pieces from our collection of 20th century art glass.

A finely made wrought iron and gilt French Art Deco console table c1925. Fine proportions and lovely decorative detail the piece retains its original fine marble top. On it a beautiful Japanese bronze mounted lamp, Satsuma koro and an Austrian cold painted bronze parrot.

An unusual William IV period English oak and mahogany corner cabinet c1835. A single glazed door with its original glass above a cupboard with a single shelf and ivory escutcheons. Great original colour and strong architectural form to this very practical piece. Displayed inside a selection of our fine collection of Chinese blue and white porcelain.

A mid Victorian mahogany campaign chest of drawers c1870. Brass bound and in two pieces this is typical of the pieces made throughout the 19th century for the young scions of Empire. They were often made in India by Chinese labour and then exported to Britain. Fine original colour and turned legs. Shown with a pair of Edwardian riding boots, Japanese Imari stick stand c1890, and three extraordinary taxidermied albino cobras and a mongoose c1900.

A fabulous trio of Anglo Indian teak tilt top tables c1830. Two of them are a matching pair and the third is very similar. The Indian Empire was a great source of domestic export goods for the British who exploited cheap labour and local materials. Much furniture for the British domestic market was made in Calcutta and Bombay using local timbers and these are a fine early example. Beautifully carved columns and lions paw feet with tops of one piece of teak retaining its fantastic colour. Classic William IVth decoration. Shown with them a very fine Chinese porcelain famille noir vase c1760.

A beautiful French Louis XVIth style kingwood marquetry secretaire c1880. Sensational marquetry throughout but particularly to the front panel, and with fine ormolu mounts. The front falls down to reveal fitted drawers and a writing surface. Displayed with it a fine Chinese export bowl.

A finely carved pair of French Louis XVIth style walnut saloon arm chairs c1890. Such pieces were part of a suite that would have been used in a drawing room and have a delicacy to them typical to chairs of this period.

A fine French mahogany Charles X period desk chair c1825. Wonderful proportions to this chair with fabulous curled arms and a generous sweep to the back.
