A superb and unusual mahogany secretaire sideboard c1790. Rare to find such pieces with the original brass gallery such as this and the secretaire section would make the piece a highly personalized order from a cabinet maker of the day.

A Charles II yew wood lowboy c1670. Yew wood has a beautiful caramel colour but is quite rare as a cabinet making timber. It was introduced to Britain to provide flexible boughs for long bows and planted in church yards to prevent cattle eating it's toxic leaves. Hence its association with grave yards and witch craft.
