John Santry (Terence John Santry) was born in Sydney in 1910, dying there in 1990. He was a painter and illustrator. He studied part-time with Dattilo Rubbo and at the East Sydney Technical School, as well as at the Westminster School of Art in London between 1937 and 1939. He worked as a black and white illustrator with newspapers including the Daily Telegraph and the Labour Daily, during the 1930’s.
