Breton Peasants Dancing, oil on canvas by Jean Young c1940. Helen Jean Young R.B.A., N.E.A.C. was born in 1914 in England and was an oil painter of figure subjects. She studied art at the Royal Academy Schools between 1933 and 1938 and in Florence in 1938.
She exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, the New English Art Club, the London Group, the Women's International Art Club and the society of Women Artists. SHe was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists, the New English Art Club and an Associate of the Society of Women Artists.
