Chinese Export Ivory Glove Stretcher
A charming Chinese ivory export glove stretcher c1880. New kid gloves required stretching before they were worn for the first time and a Lady could change her gloves several times a day. One side is carved with chinese figures and the other with roses. The two pieces and joined with a piece of flexible steel. In perfect condition such items were part of the Chinese luxury export trade to Europe and America in the late 19th century.
