Vernis Martin is a lacquer technique developed by French brothers Guillaume and Etienne-Simon Martin in immitation of Chinese lacquer and used on furniture, clocks and decorative objects. This is a fabulous example.. Beautiful painted case with gilt bronze mounts in perfect working order.
