Ambrosini Jerome was the pseudonym of James Parker Jerome. He was born in 1810, dying in 1883, in London. He was a painter of portraits, landscape, genre and historical subjects; he spent some time in Italy, where he probably acquired the name Ambrosini. In 1853, he was appointed portrait painter to the Duchess of Kent. He exhibited between 1840 and 1871, at the
Royal Academy (where he was awarded a Gold Medal), the British Institution and the Society of British Artists
