Portrait of Capt Hunt

A superb portrait of Capt Hunt by Turnham Burton dated 1839. Inscribed on the reverse: "Portrait of J Hunt of the Bengal Native Infantry painted in July 1839. In its original gilt gesso frame.

Turnham Burton was a London painter of portraits, genre and landscapes. He exhibited between 1838 and 1847 at the British Institute, the Society of British Artists and the Royal Academy.
