Still life by Jacques Blanchard
A still life grapes and greengages, oil on board by Jacques Blanchard c1950.
Jacques Blanchard was born at Chartres in 1912 and was a painter of still lifes. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris between 1934 and 1936. He was made a Member of the Societé des Artistes Indépendants in 1955 and began exhibiting at their Salon in that year and was awarded many distinctions. His painting style was exact and quasi-photographic.
