The Shadowed Harbour by Norman Lloyd

 

Norman Lloyd was born in Sydney in 1897, dying in 1985. He studied art in Sydney with Julian Ashton. He was seriously wounded in France during World War I, he resumed painting during convalescence and in 1924 exhibited in Sydney with the Younger Group of Australian Artists, formed by Julian Ashton. He later went to live in France. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, of which he was elected a Member in 1935.

His work is represented in the collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
