Two Sisters watercolour by G White
A delightful watercolour and pencil image of two young ladies in very fashionable dress signed G.F.White.
Colonel George Francis White was born in 1808, dying in Durham in 1898. A soldier, he was an enthusiastic watercolour painter who saw service in India in 1846. His sketches of the Himalayas were utilised by Turner and Prout in their 1860 book of views of India.
