Attilio Baccani portrait

A wonderful portrait of a young woman by Attilio Baccani, oil on panel c1870. Baccani was a painter of portraits and genre scenes. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in London, the Walker Art Gallery In Liverpool and the Grosvenor Gallery from 1859 to 1882, and in Paris at the Le Salon des Artistes Français. This wonderful portrait in profile is very of the Aesthetic Movement taste through a Renaissance lens and retains its original extraordinary gilt frame. Both frame and painting have been professionally conserved. The unframed image measures 51cm x 42cm.
