Daoist Scholar bust

A superb lacquered and gilt bronze Chinese bust of a Daoist Scholar, late 18th early 19th century. The stand still bears the label of John Sparks of Mount St London who were a prominent firm specialising in oriental antiques for over 100 years. Height: with stand 35.5cm without stand 25.5cm.
