Portrait by Percy Leason

Portrait of Helen Skipper by Percy Leason c1930. Leason was born in country Victoria in 1899 and died in New York in 1959. He was a painter, cartoonist, illustrator and teacher having studied himself at the National Gallery Schools in Melbourne and with Max Meldrum. A panoramic scene Leason painted of Gallipoli is now in War Memorial Museum Canberra and his work is also represented in the Collections of the National Gallery of Victoria and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The work has been professionally cleaned and measures 35.5cm x 31cm.
