18th century Nativity

‘The Nativity’ 18th century oil on canvas in the manner of Federico Barocci. Barocci was a Renaissance painter of great influence who used bright, acid tones as well as more blended ones, portraying figures viewed from below, giving them a theatrically often accented by chiaroscuro effects. You can see all of those elements in this 18th century homage which also retains its sensational gilt frame.

The work has been professionally cleaned and measures 46.5cm x 37cm.
