“The Corruptible Crown” A fabulous mid 17th century red chalk drawing attributed to Cesare Dandini. Dandini was born c1595 in Florence, dying in 1656 or 1658. He was a painter and draughtsman of religious, allegorical and mythological subjects as well as figures and portraits. His most important works are the altarpiece for the church of SS Annunziata in Florence 1625 and the St Charles with other Saints at the church in Ancona. Dandini also painted numerous allegories for private patrons. The work has been fully conserved and framed, measures: 54.5cm wide x 69cm tall.
